TECAPEI™ is an amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide (PEI) made from Sabic Innovative Plastics’ Ultem® 1000 series resins. The unreinforced 1000 series materials are translucent amber in color, and combine exceptional mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Washers or other stamped parts made to Ultem are FDA compliant and have very good creep and stiffness at elevated temperatures as well as good UV and radiation resistance. Machinery site windows, industrial food preparation, and medical markets are just a few applications that use this material.
