Mylar Orientated PET is made by stretching PET sheet after extruding the material into a sheet. It is semicrystalline thermoplastic polyester derived from polyethylene terephthalate. Mylar is cloudy in appearance while Melinex is clear. Its excellent wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, high flexural modulus, and superior dimensional stability make it a versatile material for designing mechanical and electro-mechanical parts.
